This blog is devoted to the classic fantastic Madonna film Desperately Seeking Susan. Here you'll find photo's as well as fun facts and a few other interesting items related to Madonna's greatest movie!
I absolutely totally loved this film and still do. I used to watch it many times after my parents when to bed and was dreaming away...Great to see this blog. This film and a biography of Madonna made me decide to leave my hometown and move to the 'big city'. I wanted to go to New York first but ended up in London. I did visit New York twice. The first time i had to think a lot about the film. I visited battery park, a few other places. I walked all over Manhattan and by accident came to the shop 'Love saves the day'. Felt magical. :)
The second time i came on a bus from Boston. There was this interesting person on the bus who reminded me of Susan. I got talking to her or him (wasn't sure) and their name was the same as mine (Sky).
I love the magic of the film, the way it's shot, the music, the energy, the 'subject' etcetera etcetera...
Did you know the film was kinda inspired by a french film (Céline and Julie Go Boating) (Wikipedia)
I like this video on youtube with a song from the soundtrack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G310Jkqta5w
What a great story!! I fell in love with Madonna (and Susan) when I watched this for the first time. I too wished I could live this bohemian lifestyle. I hope one day I might visit New York and be able to reminisce about my favourite movie of all time...
Hello, I'm doing a research project about Lady Gaga, Madonna and Michael Jackson. Would you help me writing comments about your favorite performances of them on TV? Thank you very much.
Wonderful post however , I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic? I'd be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit more. Cheers!
